Title: Potatoes under hay
Post by: Penninehillbilly on April 01, 2019, 03:35:56 pm
Hi
I've been looking at some YouTube videos where they just laid potatoes out and  piled hay on the patch.
Considering all the hay in goats bedding, I'm thinking of trying this on my neglected and now very weedy veg patch.
Has anyone here tried it?
TIA

I have tried but with straw. It will work with hay too but you might have grass growing from the hay seeds.
They grew very very well in fact.

I'm thinking hay will flatten down more than straw, and the few goat droppings might give it a bit of feed.
Got to use all this bedding somehow, dont know how they waste so much hay  ::)
