Title: Livestock temperatures
Post by: Backinwellies on February 09, 2019, 07:52:43 am
Hi All

Running on from a couple of other threads currently running …. I was left wondering if everyone has a thermometer and knows the ideal temperature of their stock ……….   so many people on here (and some friends of mine who ring up for advice)  don't seem to take the temp of a sick looking animal , which is one of first things vet would do. .. and helps with diagnosis  ( generally ..high temp is a sign of infection and thus antibiotics probably needed)

I admit I don't always think of this first myself either but am trying to make it habitual.

I agree. I’ve found that temperature isa particularly helpful indicator with pigs and usually fairly easy to take.
