That's beautiful and unusual for being dark.  Must have been really difficult to see the stitches.
We're always too self-critical with our handwork, there's not that many people would have the patience.
 I heard someone complaining to an indie dyer that fingering weight yarn took too long to knit an adult sweater and she should only dye DK.

Using a head torch made the stitches easy to see :)
