Is anyone feeding hay yet?
We have 13 ewes that were tipped beginning November.
Put 1 square bale out for them and it was gone within 3 days. Do I just keep putting more bales out when other ones finished?
Or am I giving them too much?
They have hi energy mineral buckets out aswell

If they're eating it, they're hungry so keep going!
I've been feeding mine hay for a month or so, the grass was poor this year with the long hot dry spell

Mine are on their 11th bale of haylage, the first are due to start lambing within 2 weeks. They have a high energy lick bucket and the heavy in lamb ones are also getting ewe and lamb nuts. A bale is lasting 8 days, 18 sheep.

Ours have been eating hay since mid-December. They asked, so we gave them some, they ate it, so we carried on. They’ve got grass under their feet but it’s clearly not very nutritious this year. We’re feeding half a small bale a day to each of two groups of 15 sheep. We could probably feed a little less, but they’re eating most of it.

My 2 tups have a slice every couple of days and are eating it. I gave the ewes some in their rack and they’ve barely touched it so must still be finding enough grass.

i put hay in last last weekend but they havent really touched it yet
i thought the grass was a bit short but they seem to grazing away every time i check on then
i am sure once the want it they will have it

Thanks folks.
So I best just keep filling them up.
I'm taking it if they are getting enough grass then they wouldn't eat the hay?
Just don't want to be wasting hay
