I think one of our 39 week old Norfolk Greys has finally started laying :sunshine:. A quite blood-marked tinted egg appeared today, but I was at work so don't know who laid it. Could be the SFH, but she was laying well before her molt so I wouldn't expect the blood and I don't think she's quite finished yet anyway. At 61g it's much bigger than any other first egg I've had, but the NGs are really big girls - bigger even than the RIR. Waiting for them to come into lay I have come to understand why this heritage breed is such, and have learned to be patient :farmer: They're very elegant birds, and fly surprisingly well given their size and shape (think Hercules aircraft), so I think I'd have them again, but I will be very pleased when they stop just gardening and start delivering some yummy eggs :yum:
