Title: Rabbits
Post by: oor wullie on December 07, 2018, 06:34:01 am
I saw a rabbit the other day which got me thinking, it's been about 2 years since I last saw a rabbit.  There used to be plenty around here but now they are nearly completely gone, possibly due to a disease called RHD.

Is it the same with everyone else or are rabbits still common in your area?

we had some youngsters in the summer, but they're the only ones I've seen this year.

We are still overrun with them.  Ours have liver fluke and are a right pest.

Not a common sight in North Lincolnshire these days either. Apart from the little bugger that's eating me brassicas.

Plenty in Norfolk. I'll give them a map and point them North!!

Lots here in West Suffolk too. Hares seem to be increasing locally as well despite a recent news story of a disease they seem to be catching elsewhere in Suffolk and Norfolk.

Very few here in North Nottinghamshire.  Saw one in the garden in the summer, but have never seen any in the fields in 11 years.

I never saw any here until the coal trains stopped running to Longannet power station - over the summer they have raided my flower and vegetable beds. Damned nuisancees - but at least the noise pollution is gone - for the moment - till they start building electric trains up there  :innocent:

I work on an industrial estate and there are loads because there are no predators around there apart from the odd lorry.
