Title: Raspberry canes

I put in a number of raspberry canes earlier this year, two of which had to go in a bed in the part of the garden the dog uses. I’ve now caught him helping himself to raspberries that are only just ripe. Apart from the fact that I grew them for me, he tends to rip a length of stalk with the berry. I now have space to put them in the vegetable garden but I’m not sure when this should be done. I’d prefer to move them now before he wrecks the plants but not sure how safe this is.


Any ideas? They’re autumn fruiting if that makes a difference.

Once the leaves are off it's OK to move them.  Rasps are pretty bombproof so will pop back up no problem.
Our dogs love peas and some beans, even roasted salted favas.  No pea plant is safe in our garden - any the dogs miss, the mice clear up.

Thanks, FW. At the moment they are in full leaf and still (as far as I can ascertain) producing fruit. I'll move them when they've finished it all.

They usually go on fruiting until the frost gets them.  Ours have already been got  :(

We've already had a frost but they are in a protected area near the house so maybe it missed them. Can't be long before we get a heavy one though.
