Hi all
Please recommend tags for goats
. I'm used to buying sheep ones but what type would be best for goats?

Unless you have different flock numbers for goats and sheep don't you just use the sheep ones? I am with Shearwells (always have been) and use their SET EID tags for both. Goats now also have one ankle tag from Dalton's.

I have button and flags for my sheep
not suitable for goats I don't think

I use the bubblegum ones myself but i have several goats i have bought in with flag ear tags. Never had one lost or damaged and some of the goats are 8-10 years old now.

Sorry I have no idea - depends a bit on the goats I suppose. Flag inside the ear and button outside maybe? I have only ever used the SET EID ones from Shearwells, with the loop cut.

Some of the angora breeders use round or flag type without problems.
I use little rectangle shaped Dalton tags, can't remember what they're called.
Maybe depends on what type of ears the goats have.

The commercial goat herd I worked at used button tags for EID with no problems. Yes some got pulled out when caught up but they were easily replaced in the milking parlour.
