Title: My Sheep are low of grass whats the best food to give them.

 hi ive had my lambs for 7 months now but as were getting closer to slaughter time were trying to get as much meat on them as possible before they "go" but they've ran out of grass whats the best substitute to feed them

Hi,

Hay is good, but if you want to finish them off to a good weight and you are low on grass then it would be good to give them a good general livestock mix of between 16 & 19 % protien as well as the hay.

We use rapid lamb and hay, but there is a lovely mix called golden lamb bit more expensive but looks better than the generic pellets!

what about sugar beet? sweetens the meat also?
