Title: Moving to the land
Post by: DavidandCollette on September 04, 2018, 06:54:15 pm
Our  3 acres are about a mile from us. Having considered moving to a new place we have decided that we would be better just moving onto the land we have. Consequently we have started looking at log cabins with a sceptic tank, solar panels etc. Anyone have any experience of such a move please?

Have you got planning permission?
You can't just move onto land without it.

Obviously time spent in reconnaissance is never wasted.
But looking at your previous posts, I don't think you realise that it is virtually impossible to obtain planning permission to build log cabin, site a caravan, or even erect a tent for residential purposes - just because you own the land.

The planning laws are strictly adhered to because otherwise our green and pleasant countryside would be littered with unregulated structures erected by people who bought a piece of land and thought they could then turn it into a homestead.   :sunshine:
