Title: Hello
Post by: Marc Elsley on September 01, 2018, 10:59:45 am
Hello everyone.
So we are taking the plunge, my family (Me, my wife, my father in law and daughter) are hopefully buying a property with about 4 acres of land. We want to plant some woodland, clear the large pond/small lake, create a wildflower meadow, keep some animals (not to eat) etc. Not all at once obviously. The land currently is split into gardens, mowed paddock area, some woodland, pond/lake and a huge bit of unkempt/bramble/wildflower meadow. We are looking to buy a compact tractor (second hand) with the bits that we need to effectively keep the land and are after some advice.

Hi and welcome

Cant help with compact tractor advice ….. lots of previous threads on this and the alternative use of Quads if you search.

Useful to know where you are based as some advice will vary depending on location.

Marc, welcome to the forum and good luck with your venture.
As to tractors/implements, your question is too general.  I would suggest you post thoughts about what you actually want to do (crops and land management requirements), but I also suggest you go search-out some 2nd-hand tractors that you can afford and then ask what anyone thinks about any particular tractor/s that might take your fancy.

Hello and welcome marc.  Whereabouts is your new land? You will have plenty of hands to muck in with all that work.  If you post some specific questions in the relevant sections, you will get those who know about those particular matters coming forward to reply.  Meanwhile, welcome to your new life.
