Title: virgin pig keeper
Post by: charente on September 28, 2008, 07:17:53 pm
Good evening to all fellow pig people

My wife and I, two kids(now1&2), a jack russle and 25 year old Landrover ninety, moved to near Cognac and bought a beautiful 1867 Charentaise house, workshop, pig homes and five acres of land surrounding our house. This move has definetly enhanced our lives. Soon after we settled in we went to market and picked up 8 Sussex hens and a Sussex cock. The next day I went and checked to see how they were getting on and they had already laid eggs. To me they were like magical golden eggs. I rushed back to the house clutching the eggs with a big smile and presnted them to my excited wife and kids. The simple pleasure of nature and life has us all hooked. We are now going to get some pigs, once we've done a little more research, to roam freely with our chooks. We can hardly wait for the pig chapter to start.
We are looking forward to your pearls of wisdom.
