Anyone know who stocks the cheapest sugar in the Glasgow Area? (jam and wine making)
Also, on a slightly related topic. Have we ever used this forum to organise bulk buys? Probably have and I just haven't noticed.

I haven't seen any, but there is a thread somewhere that says what area people are in and there is also the members map that not many people seem to use. By using a combination of these you could work out who is close enough to you to make bulk buying worthwhile.

I buy the very large bags from the supermarket(5kilo). They are usually kept on the bottom shelf under the other bags of sugar. They work out a bit cheaper than buying 1 kilo bags.

Yes, we'd been buying bags from Sainsbury's. They charge £4.68 I think for 5Kg bag.
On the bulk buy front I was thinking we could pool together for various items. Jars, Compost, Animal Feed etc... I've been involved in bulk buys before although ultimately didn't take part due to timing (was for car exhausts belive it or not). I'm not sure how many members are on here but we could leverage quite a discount.

Farmfoods shops sell 1Kg Tate and Lyle sugar for 59p.

you can get 1.5 kg in pound shop for yes you guessed £1
tesco is doing 2kg for £1.35 way cheaper than your 5kg
morrisons was doing 2 x 1kg for About £1.50
bulk buying from cash n carry sometimes work out dearer than the supermarkets as they got a huge buying power..

asda are doing 1kg for 68p just now
