Well we took delivery of our boar yesterday and he's lovely. We have a dilemma though what to call him??? I like Boris hubby and rest of the family like Berkley ( too pretentious for a pig if you ask me) anyway wish I knew how to do those vote things but what do you guys think? If you have any other names for consideration let me know. His dad was Bertie so that's out.

If he costs anything like my boar try Barclay(s bank) (we are in hoc to them for the next zillion years with the costs of bringing him across)

Actually he was a bargain I think. His father was a reserve champion in the royal show a few years ago and he was £175 so I'm very pleased.

I don't think you can ever give a name to a pig that's too pretentious! Berkley / Barclay sounds great.
How about Fortescue Poncenby -Smythe?

My fave is Boris (could be cos that's my dog's name ;))
But Boris the boar has a nice ring to it ;D (and mum always wins - eventually ;D)

I'd go for Berkley, I already know a Boris.
Ours get multiple names as all the visiting children thought they were naming "their" pig, but they all chose the same one! Luckily this didn't result in split personalities ;D

They learn quicker than your average dog, I 've found ! All my pigs come to call ;D
I like the name Hamlet for a boar. :pig:

My pigs all seem to know their names - or maybe they think it's code for 'food' ;D

Hamlet is the name of my Tamworth boar, we went with the shakespeare theme with the next gilt we got and called her Titania, but the kids have quickly shortened that to 'Titty' and she comes to call, god knows what the neighbours think!!

Noooooooo, Boycie was the name of that chap in Only Fools And Horses, wasn't it? Big fake gold Rolex and all that?
If your boar is a white-haired bachelor, grumpy but smart and does his most profound thinking with a beer in front of him, you could always call him Morse...
But since you seem going for names starting with a B, how about Bruno? No? Brutus? No? I know: Barnie! I might use that name myself, one day (lacking both sows and boars at the moment ;D)

Thing is hubby loves fools and horses ! Boar is a saddleback with a big blonde band so I thought of that nit wit mayor boris Jonson although I'm sure our boar will be less annoying but OH and kids don't like it at all.. I'm getting overruled they said they're calling him Boycie but I think he was a ' one hit' wonder in the series. Let's hope the boar isn't!

Boycie is a great name! we have a cat called Delby - it was Del-boy but turned out a girl !

Sounds like Boycie it is - though he may turn out to be a Dellboy ;D
Or, sticking to the Only Fools and Horses theme, how about "Mr Trotter"?? If the kids are old enough they might start calling him "Mr T" ;D

I was going to suggest"Wooster" as his first name was Bertie!

Lol Bertie was his dad but Wooster wouldve been good. Boris just stuck and it does suit him.
