How do you clean algae/spores from the inside of those big tripod drinkers (we have a “honeypot” one)? Can’t reach it with a brush. Have tried soaking in Virkon, to no avail. There must be a way?! Is there a special brush you can use?

You may be able to reach with a bottle brush? You can buy sterilising powder for wine making equipment in Wilko's- I've just bought a pot (£2). It's supposed to prevent the formation of anything that may spoil the wine so it should be fine for a drinker. Mix with warm water and leave it to stand then rinse thoroughly.

have you tried little copper balls? you can get small pots of them to clean vases and suchlike. You'll need to manipulate the feeder to swill them around inside with water, then they act as abrasives and do an excellent job on glassware. When done you pour them out with the water and catch them in a tea strainer or sieve or similar. No chemicals either :)
