Thanks Karen, very useful. I really have to try and get 1 or 2. Today just found fresh fox poo on our land - so not happy! Thanks for thinking about me, I will let you know. :) :)

Phoned a couple of times but no answer, so left my number and hopefully they will ring me back. :)

Thats a very good price for two - wonder if they are two youngsters? Just make sure they are castrated, James. You do not want two intact males together, and you do not want intact males full stop. The one we have is fine during the daylight, but come dark he starts to chase all the livestock inside, and will stamp on anything that does not want to go in, and he will mount anything at all, including big haybales, and even people....I would not wish that on anyone.
I was talking to a lady at the horse show today who has a llama, and she said she certainly would not have another, and I doubt I would. For example, introducing new livestock into the field is a nightmare, as he sees it as a threat, and chases it for hours - although he is fine most of the time with whats already there. He has finally accepted Poppy and Primrose the little goats, but he did chase them at first.
And be prepared for throwing out enormous piles of hay, ours has an enormous appetite :D

Thanks Roxy. I would only buy castrated boys as I know how any intact male can behave. Even my castrated sheep and lambs try it on with eachother at times which gives me a laugh seeing a male sheep trying to get his wicked way with a male goat!!!! I did leave the people selling the Llamas a message but as yet they have not got back to me.

After several phone calls to the sellers I told them I would go and do my homework on keeping Llamas. Phoned them tonight to say yes I would like to re home them and was told some one else is going to view them on Sunday. So, a bit disappointed now - thanks anyway Karen.

go and view them tomorrow, or Saturday

The right llamas will turn up James, they are out there somewhere just waiting to be found. Keep on looking :D

I went away up past Aberdeen this morning to meet a Llama and Alapca breeder and I had a great time while there. Lorna has LOTS of both Llamas and Alpacas and today I found out that Llamas are just soooooooo BIG and therefore spent a lot of time with the Alpacas, they are so beautiful too but a better size.
The brown one is Jo Jo, if I remember his name correctly and for the life of me I can't mind the other one nearer him who is the most gprgeous colour of strawberry/fawn.

They are so cute. My friends in wales had a number of Alpacas but couldn't find anywhere to sell the fleeces so gave them all away!
