Title: Vit/min bucket for lambs
Post by: Goats!!! on May 28, 2018, 02:52:22 pm
Out older Cade lambs are now out on grass, we wanted to get a vitamin/mineral bucket/block for them. Can anyone recommend something to get them, we will also carry on with feeding them a ration of nuts.

Just get a general purpose sheep mineral bucket from your local country store, that will do them fine.

Yes agree! For the summer and autumn whilst you have grass a basic mineral lick would suffice. For the winter when the weather has turned and grass quality decreased an energy lick with minerals would be useful. I like Mole Valley and Downland licks :-)

I like Mole Valley and Downland licks :-)

But what do your sheep think of them?

They love them :roflanim:  especially the MV feet and fertility one, and the Downland opti lix energy bucket. Do very well on both.

Graze DUP blocks are amazing, never seen lambs grow so quick!

I'm moving towards pasture / grass fed as much as possible, and definitely no soya meal, so have been using the Mole Valley 'Rumigan' Dual Purpose lick with a side order of Himalayan Rock Salt.  (The Rumigan is seaweed-meal based.)
