For those who remember I was struggeling over agreement on an acre of land, well theres been a bit of a twist in the tail; basically we had another chat and due to his grass shortage and a few land purchases that fell through the acre we were discussing is now unavailable:However if it becomes access land next year, he would rather rent to me for a reasonable rent.
Ive been walking my dog down the same lane for years and in the last couple of years i have made friends with a guy who has a couple of horses in paddocks at the end of the drove. The other evening we were moving the fence for his horses and out of the blue he looked up and offered me to rent a part of his paddock Grin Grin Included in the rent which is very reasonable, is use of all equipment, feeders, arc's everything is there, ready to go Grin even use of the livestock trailer and a container for storage of feed and hay etc.
It's three good size pens running parallel to his field, excellent stock fencing and gates: Turned out he used to keep pigs, it was so overgrown that all the times Ive been out there with his horses, i had never noticed it before Cheesy. I am very easily distracted by horses Smiley. If I had not put on so much damn weight I would still ride, i miss it terribly, anyway I digress Embarrassed So the plan is, buy a few pigs for fattening and ground clearance Wink they will love it. Let them clear out the third and largest pen, then move them into the others and grass seed that newly fertilized spot ready for a couple of lambs next spring maybe.
Defra tommorow for a holding number and a SOL. ;D That ell be fun :D

Got some lambs cheap to get you started next year if you are interested. I have to downsize a bit so have some good stock ready and a few lambs that have just been born (literally) so should be good stock lambs.

Sorry everyone I missed the replies :-[ Thanks for the wishes and combined excitement. ;D
I have now got the Holding number and the herd number for the pigs, off to market on Saturday provided the trucks back from the workshop in time to see whats available.
Rachael sorry Hun you must think me rude :-[ I haven't got email notifications and missed this all together. i was looking at a few lambs for the spring to bring on, could very well be interested in a few.
I was going to let the pigs into the biggest pen to clear it, then seed it for next year and let some lambs in. I'm sure I can move some stuff around, if they're still available when you looking to part with them?
Thanks again all
