Hello Introducing myself as I am new to the site. We live in beautiful Aberdeenshire and have a golden retriever x border collie and 4 three year old Khaki Campbell ducks.
We went away for the week and our neighbour kindly looked after the ducks for us; when we came back he hadn't taken any of the eggs so one of the ducks was sitting and wouldn't let us anywhere near her so we also now have 13 ducklings!!
Any advice greatly appreciated as now the ducklings are 2 weeks old the adult male has started attacking them. One drew blood so we have moved it inside.

Hi and welcome from North Yorkshire.

You need to separate the drake from the chicks somehow - a pen next to them perhaps - he sees them as a threat and will kill them if he gets the chance. If he and his 'wife' are both khaki campbells he will be extremely possessive of her - KC's are known to be very virile and normally need 8 to 10 females to service.
What are you going to do with the youngsters? You may well have another 6 drakes there ;D ;D ;D Once you know what sex they are I'd suggest trying to sell them - Gumtree is a possibility - and about £8 to 310 each.

Hi from Aberdeenshire too - we don't have KhakiC's but we do have Call Ducks - and we do have quite a few ducklings and as Doganjo said we keep the male's away from the duckling until they are virtually getting their feathers in - as the males can be a bit bossy also although the cat is lovely I wouldn't trust him with a duckling!! Best of luck with your brood.
