Post by: Rainyplace on September 09, 2008, 08:13:06 pm
calling all you Clacks folk, driving through Tilli today and saw big signs for food festival later on in Sept. Wondered if any of you knew anything about it?

I think Rosemary mentioned it on another thread.  Might be on her website

I understand that publicity will be out this week. I went last year - it was £5 to get in but I went in the back entrance so got in for free - actually, I wasn't trying to avoid paying. I didn't expect there to be  a charge and just took my usual route into the property. My story and I'm sticking to it. To be honest, if I had known it was £5 to get in, I wouldn't have bothered. It was a miserable day and lots of stands were outside. There were cookery demos and some stands of local food.

I did offer to take along some hens and promote backyard poultry keeping but the roganiser never got back to me.

It's the same day as the Ashfield Food Festival, and the smallholders has a stand there so I'll be in Ashfield. Ironic really.
