Title: Turn out question
Post by: Lucyyoung on May 05, 2018, 06:49:12 pm
So I have a large field with some of last years ewe lambs in and was wondering if it would be ok to turn out my ewes and lambs in there too? Youngest lamb is 5 weeks old but I was wondering if the lambs would get a bit confused with other ewes out there too?

Turn lambs out at 24-48hrs old into fields with 40-60 ewes and lambs already in, so at 5wks old they should be no problem

Fab thanku. It’s my first year so didn’t want lambs wandering round lost haha!

A good mother will find her lambs no matter how big the field or how many other lambs in it

Whereas a bad mother............Just sayin'  :innocent:

We've got one who mothers fine, but just seems to ignore her lambs if they get separated from her and bleat for her. I actually think she may be deaf, but I haven't got around to figuring out how to test that yet!
