i am wanting to know how much it costs to slaughter and butcher lambs in Scotland
 glad on any help
-
Not Scotland I'm afraid but good for comparison. £15 abattoir costs plus £25 butchering, all product vac packed & individually labelled, priced if required.

-
For me in West Wales its £29 -£35 for kill and cut, not vac packed or anything, you need to re-package when you get back

-
Depends where you are - I have used dingwall, grantown on spey and shotts abattoirs and the prices are very different.
It also varies with lambs/hoggets, although shotts don't charge extra for them.
Best bet is to call the abattoir you intend to use.
-
Cumbria and Cornwall £22-£25 kill and cut - in both cases paying the butcher, he pays the abattoir and fetches the carcass. I take the sheep to the abattoir and fetch the boxed meat from the butcher.

-
Cornwall £30 kill and cut in bags or £32 kill cut and vac pac.

-
south west yorkshire: £10 for abbatoir (killing and meat inspection stamp); can be a couple of quid to a fiver more (always a bit more if son does it!) for hoggs that must have spinal cord removed. Butcher 'em myself so not comparison cost there. NB: This is a small rural abbatoir but over the last few months it has been frequently picketted by animal rights acitivists who try to turn back customers, has occasionally got a bit heated.

Where do you go? .... Tregaron is less than that
-
Gower - Tregaron is too far to travel for me, happy with the service on Gower too :)

I believe scotbeef inverurie will slaughter for £16.50 but I think you need to organise the butcher.

Ouch!! £80/90 kill and cut for a lamb is madness

Havn't taken any this year yet but I paid £18 last year for kill and cut up, bagged and boxed. Sounds like a bargain for me.
