Oh god, I feel so awful. This morning I ran over and killed my last remaining guinea fowl. I am devasted. :'( It was raining and she must have been sheltering under the car. I always look by the car and out of my window when reversing but never thought to look underneath. I feel sick. My husband said better her than the cat. :(

Well, it was quick so no pain for her. But it does happen - our neighbour reversed over his working collie with his JCB, our son's FiL set off with their terrier sitting on top of a tyre (whoever would look there?) and killed it, my mum years ago reversed over our blind cat. Mostly it's small children standing behind big 4x4s in the blind spot
:( . Don't blame yourself Cinderhills - it was an accident, horrible but could have been worse.

My wife once ran over almost an entire clutch of chicks who were all sheltering under the wheel of her car. I think about 3 survived out of twelve and my brother drove into a pony that was asleep in the road in the new forest.

I ran over my 18 year old Maine Coone cat - I had all the children in the car, she died in my arms in front of them :( terrible accidents DO happen, it wasnt' your fault

I started up my landrover only to hear terrible screeching coming from it I thought that it was the fan belt and opened up the bonnet to find a cat caught up in it. Unfortunately it died, I felt terrible as it was my Jack Russell that had chased it under the Landrover and it was my friends cat.
