Title: Duck eggs with green spot
Post by: madchickenlady on April 13, 2018, 09:17:07 am
Hi, I have recently found two of my duck eggs to have fairly large round green spot on the yolk. Eggs were fresh and with no outward signs of damage. Birds are on no medication. Any ideas please?

If it was a hen egg with a large white/ cream spot on the yolk it would be fertile. I've no experience of duck eggs, but is their blastoderm green?

It's called a meat spot. When I first had these I thought it was mould  ;D . Just take it off, the egg is fine.
