Hi ya,
i am thinking about taking my lambs to the abattoir in Brechin. they do private kills. this is by recommendation....have used St Andrews before but it would be more convenient for me and a shorter journey for the lambs.. what do you think - any comments? I was speaking to one of their men and mentioned that I also have weaners which will be ready in end Dec beginning of Jan. He told me that they may not be doing pigs any more, by then!!! So then where is the next best place???
Comments welcome, please

Hi Emma,
Afraid I don't know anything about this subject, except that I read in the Courier yesterday the Brechin abbatoir is now closed.
Shocked staff were handed their redundancy notices...
The plant will be mothballed for the foreseeable future...
Here it is..

That's a blow - we intended to use Brechin for the lambs when the time comes. Seems like another blow to the countryside from the offencerati in the town.

I phoned Brechin,
Despite the newspaper reports - they are still killing. For the time being anyway! I have my lambs booked in for tomorrow!
