Title: Big changes to Smallholder Festival
Post by: Fleecewife on March 22, 2018, 12:28:09 pm
My inbox today tells me there are big changes for this year's Smallholder Festival.  Back to Forfar and no animal judging. So a whole new emphasis - I'm looking forward to it  :farmer: :garden: :spin: :tree: :hungry:

Indeed. We plan to have as many breeds of sheep, goats, pigs and native equines on show as possible (but no showing classes), freeing up a resource to have more demos. Still 15 talks. Still Garden, Craft and food competition and a Poultry and Waterfowl Show. More rural crafts. More local food.

And free to enter - with a small charge for a wristband to gain entry to talks and demos. So if you just want a mooch and a blether, some fine local food and some early festive shopping (sheep, goats and so on for Christmas stockings!!!!), it's free. Want to learn stuff - buy a wristband!

We didn't bring animals to show last year and I must admit it gave us much more of an opportunity to see everything on offer, have many good gossips and just browse...and spend of course  ;D

Sorry for my ignorance, but will someone be making a video of the show, or clips for You tube?

Possibly, if resources allow.

Forfar, Angus, north of Dundee in Scotland.  It's a single day.  Check the link below.
