Title: Cake feeding quantities
Post by: SuffolkK on March 19, 2018, 01:42:34 pm
So this is probably a silly question but my ewes have been having ewe rolls and my supplier has not been able to receive in the order today due to the snow! I have managed to get hold of some 18% ewe nuts. Do I feed the same wieght of these as I do the rolls?

Nuts are just a smaller form of rolls so yes feed the same if they are both 18%  .  If they are by a different company  and so taste slightly different  then  some ewes may be a little reluctant to eat  . You need to give them some kind of feed if pregnant so have no choice , or you will have bigger problems .

Thanks Shep53. I only have 5 left to lamb, the other 25 have all lambed over the last 10 day period  :o. They are all on cake and I do not want to stop but I was just concerned if I would be over / under feeding. Knowing what my ewes are like, I don't think they will be too fussy over if the taste is different!
