Title: Hello

Hello I am new to all of this and would value your opinions.
I have a six acre field, that has taken me years to find.
Can I put a barn on it? And presumably I need planning permission?
Anyone any experience of this?
The field is in Shropshire
Thank you
Lol

Hello and welcome to the forum. I don't know much about planning either but I think it might depend on what you want to use the barn for. If it's  just for storage I think you might have a problem but if it's animal housing then you stand a better chance.

Hi. Congratulations on getting your field. Have a look on the section on planning below, there are a few threads on this topic. The government planning portal has all the guidelines but takes some weaving through.  If you have 5 hectares plus and run a agricultural business there are certain permitted developments and that can include rented so could apply if you rented more land.
