A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
actually about four years ago, here in Carnoustie, a woman from Angus Council came to see me to ask what the Council could do for small farm business development. I said "an abattoir at Forfar would be good. Maybe you could link up with Lawrie and Symington to build a new combined abattoir and market / agricultural centre".
Never heard any more but with the closure of Dunblane, it's come to the front of my mind, so I emailed Angus Council and got a very swift reply from a man called Roy Johnston, saying
[/color]"Having made enquiries, there have been long running discussions with interested parties for a few years now re the potential for an abbatoir in Forfar. This discussion has faltered a bit as the prospect of EU funding support has diminished, but is still alive.[/size][/color][/font]

[/color][/color]My senior service colleague will make sure that the supporters of this scheme are aware of your interest. This is a facility which has to be led by market demand, and is not something the Local authority would operate ourselves.[/color]

[/color][/color]Yay for Brexit! But would you use an abbatoir in Forfar? Can we bring some pressure on the various parties to get the finger out?

Definitely use as long as private kill's accepted,a lot quicker to get to as well.
