would you believe it, had some jobs on me list today to do, the first one was to
take some rubbish to skip and from there go and collect more timber to finish of chicken house and whatever other
jobs need to be done.
well went to find keys for the ford mavrick and i have lost them >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
me and beth looked all over the house and outside twice maybe three times over,
plus asking george(3yrs) every 10 min :D.
well im writing this at 3.20 p.m. and no sign of the flipping keys and no jobs crossed of me list.
im well annoyed at meself beth is allways telling me to hang me keys up when i come in, but that goes in one
ear and out the other.
will have to ring the nearest ford dealer on monday and take it from there.
hope everone elses day has gone better than mine ;)
langdon.

I know that thing about keys...I have an oldish car and last year went for a walk in the woods, collecting this and that, stopping to have a break ::) and meandering, also had some nice treats in my pocket!! than, I found I had lost the car key and it was getting dark..luckily I had my mobile and was not too far from my OK who then asked a guest for a lift with the spare key...so now, I only have 1 car key on the key ring with the house keys on as we only have one set of them as they are cast iron and HUGE..so that was that, then, yesterday I was outside and my partner brought my bestest glasses and asked if I needed them, I said no because they often slip off and they are varifoclus so make me feel strange worn when walking alond, anyway, he cannot remember where he put them!!! so all I have now is the scratched ones that my pups got hold of and my reading glasses!!!

Whatever you have lost - STOP LOOKING FOR IT/THEM! They always turn up when you least expect them. :)

We are forever losing keys to vehicles, but they do turn up eventually. Mobile phones I can lose very easily. I burnt my last one by accident on the bonfire. Got a nice new one last week. In my pocket it was. Out in the fields and guess what? I must have dropped it. Dare not tell hubby, he was already mad about the bonfire. Retraced my steps, nearing dark too .....spotted it. Amazing, as its very small. Need a reflective cover, not a black one ....and a beep on it, so I can find it. Then yesterday, found it missing yet again. Searched field, hay barn, hen sheds. What else had I done? Cleaned the hens out. Went to full wheelbarrow, and sitting on the top ....phone. Must have dropped onto the barrow. Thank God I had not tipped it on the massive muck heap!!
Hope you get sorted with your keys, Langdon.

Now everything is so small it is easy to loose things, I liked the days when the TV remote was on a wire from the TV.....now you have several of them and they have a habbit of going down the sofa!!!! I just either wash or drop phones down the looe!! As I said before, if I loose this key ring to the house I am stumpted as its cast iron, there are 2 keys to the lock and another big cast iron key to the back door so changing them would be loads!!!
-
we have now giving up the search, poor little george must have thought he was getting integragation by
jack bauer!!!!!!!!!!
going to a scrap yard tomorrow to see if we can get a replacement ignition and key.
-
Glad you've given up, you'll find 'em now. ;D

Keys, keys, keys - are they not the bain of everyones life! My misses bought me a key rack - do you think I use it? No. Forever losing keys all the time.
I am sure thats its easier to leave them in the vehicle these days (hope no random thief's are reading!!) as it really is the safest place for them.
Bring on the fingerprint start button, thats what I say. That is unless I lose a finger in a PTO shaft or something, then I will have to keep my finger on ice. (at least I will know its in the freezer I spose!)

So, I went on the new walk yesterday, did a circuit and put the dogs back into the unlocked car (car is scruffy and old and worth more in insurance so I hardly ever lock it!!! don't tell the insurance company but it WIll have been locked if it gets stolen!!) anyway, I then trawled through my zipped up safety pockets and NO KEYS, and remember, they are 3 HUGE 300 year old keys the only way into the house, and my only car key as I lost the other on a walk 2 years ago!!! my heart sunk and I had a job getting the dogs back out of the car, particulay Ben, so I thought, here goes, retrace my every step and there was a lot of big puddles and rough grass to look through, then, just before the big gate I saw them, I remember getting the lead out my pocket and thats when they must have fallen out...thank you thank you!! I realy must keep them safe!! phew
-
They are so huge, Sandy, I don't know why you carry them around - maybe lock them in the car and carry the car key in a zipped pocket? Which walk did you do - left area or right, adn how far did you go? I went up last night about teatime, on teh right hand one but hd to cut it to an hour as we were getting soacked.

My OH is constantly putting things down and losing them - he can be working away with his toolbox and just puts screwdrivers and hammers down as he walks about, then spends ages looking for them again. Anyway - I got him one of these for his keys as he drives me demented searching for them every morning . . http://www.loc8tor.com
-
egbert, my o/h is exactly the same! and then sends me off looking, as he has no patience & gets stroppy !
and he NEVER hangs the keys up, then its somehow my fault.... (I always hang up the keys... I can lose other things, but never the keys ;) )
-
WHat aggitates me is, if we have someone help us with some DIY, my OH asks me where things are, I have to explain several times and end up getting them for him, then, after the job he and whoever else is helping, will leave them somewhere very obscure, like in the dogs room, out in the garden or on the matle piece!!!! Now that is very anoying!
-
I was a complete b*gger for it to the point where I would spend 3/4 of my time looking for stuff - keys, safety goggles/gloves, chainsaw, fuel, nails, hammer, crowbar etc etc etc. I've learnt now to put stuff back in specific places for small stuff (keys) and in a general area for big stuff.
It's been hard graft to change my attitude and way of doing stuff but it has paid off in the fact I now have time to more things!!!
Still leave keys in my overalls though...

I'm sure we have a plotergiest, I sat plucking my eyebrows and took a swig of my cuppa and they disapeard, then my glasses walked off, then my sock, always one sock and it then took me ages and ages and ages to unravel some necklace to give me a slightly "thought about what I am wearing" look!!! Yup, a poltergiest...now where did I put my new phone?
