Title: Blight again - North Fife
Post by: northfifeduckling on July 28, 2010, 05:50:36 pm
Racing against time again, digging up tatties...thank goodness I only found 2 affected tubers so far! Strangley in one bed it's only one half affected, I planted the same varitey a few weeks apart (don't ask me which). I wouldn't have thought it made such a difference.  :&>

Got it here in North Wales too. No sign a week ago but loads of plants affected over the last few days. I've cut all the foliage off them today and will dig the spuds up tomorrow. No sign of it in the few I lifted today.

Charlottes some affected, maris piper don't look too bad but a few signs, pentland javelin all infected the whole bloody lot. We've had a lot of rain on and off the last couple of weeks don't think this has helped.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the blight. Bordeaux mixture every 14days or after a spell of rain is the way to go as I'm not too sure if there is anything else you can use. I would rather spray them with this than the other. There is nothing worse than an Irishman who ain't got no spuds. Hope that is of some use :)
