Title: looking for pietrain gilt
Post by: powispigs on July 28, 2010, 11:56:48 am
HI all, have heard good things about the meat production of a pietrain so would like to try and breed from one with our British lop boar. Has anybody got anything available local to me in Shropshire?
Thanks :)
Would be happy with good pietrain x

Hi sorry cant help in your area, I had 2 pietrains which were reared free range and the meat was excellent and absolutely tons of it, very lean and crossed with a British Lop I am sure will be amazing. I did consider getting more but plumped for natives instead.

Have you tried the BPA website?

www.britishpigs.org

You can search for pigs on there by area.

Good luck  :)

I know someone in Cornwall who has crossed piedtrain with GOS and apparently the meat is amazing.
