Title: Finished the run and got first chooks!!

I'm very late to this chook keeping lark but I finally finished the chicken coop/run today and I have also put my first chooks in there. Will post pics later hopefully.

WOW! They are great. Got my first egg this afteroon too! It was delicious mmmmm  ;D

Do have a couple of questions tho' - Do you have to move the food and water in with the birds at night? Secondly, can they eat the leaves off a bamboo?

I don't move the food & water in as I find it makes the house even messier!
I like to use the morning feed and drinking time to check them all over when they come out of their houses. They go straight for the food & drink. If I left it with them all night they'd scarper as soon as I let them out and I wouldn't be able to check them all!

I used to put water in the house but now never as i had a young chick drown.
