Title: measuring for horse rugs
Post by: ellisr on July 23, 2010, 10:01:33 am
How do you measure properly for rugs as Blueshaan came with 4 rugs and all look to small when they are on (he is a big boy) I was going to buy new for the autumn/winter setting in but really don't know how to get the right size.

I know silly question but my grandpa always done that when I had horses when I was younger and he passed a good few years ago so I can't ask

Conversion for you  :)  http://www.thesaddleryshop.co.uk/HorseRugSizingChart.aspx
But bear in mind different brand do differentiate in fitting some come up small and some come up big  :-\ but if you ask where your getting them from the sales people should know which do  ;)

You're a gem, he does have the wrong size he has a 6'9 and should have a 7' minimum. I can now stock up before the cold weather sets in and get him a better rain rug as the rain does get him down but not as much as being in a stable.

Next thing for him will be a field shelter I think and then he can choose to go under cover when he wants, and yes he is spoilt.
