Post by: langdon on July 20, 2010, 09:54:05 pm
at what age do chucks realise that slugs is a source of food and protein?
as i was picking veg in the back garden this afternoon there was loads plus in where our young chucks ( 8-10 wks )
are i try to egg them on to eat them but they dont even look at them!
on the other hand the older one across the road ( 18 mths ) dont give them a second chance in slipping away!!!

My daughters ducks were not keen on slugs and those horrid big brown things apparently leave a sticky residue, funny watching them eat them though!!!!

Where are you getting slugs? The ground is so hard here you would need a jack hammer!

Our ducks would love the opportunity for a slug lunch, its so dry here they seem to have gone to ground the slugs not the ducks.

mine come running to the fence if they see me coming with a tub from the veg patch! the hens are not so keen but give them a go just to steal them from the ducks  :&> :cat:
