We need a TAS chain to get things round the country, that we want to buy and sell!! I am only about 20 miles from Bolton, and visit a friend regularly. And I went to North Wales yesterday, so could have taken the loom part way, if someone else could have ferried it further down Wales. In fact, we are hoping to go to mid Wales some time soon, which would take the loom a bit further on its journey!!!

Roxy not sure how well that idea would work in reality? :-\ But! May a great suggestion all the none the less ;) Why not make a thread on the idea and see how many people would be willing to participate?

That'd be great and it does work cos Downsizer do it an I've bought chickens from Somerset and Wool from Cumbria.....all transported to near to me via different DS members ;D
Pics received....and I'm drooling...although have absolutely no idea how to restore it, but I do a fair bit of Peg looming, felting, knitting, etc etc....and this WOULD fit in my "Craft Room" !!!!......which sounds mightily grand, but its a block built outhouse that the previous owner used to have his trainset laid out in it...so its warm, dry and has electricity...and its now full with all my craft stuff, mountains of fleeces and a whole lot of harness/saddlery too :-\
ROUGHTLY what sort of size is it? And does it fold down/come apart??? DO NOT let your OH turn it into a work bench :o :o ;)
-
Roughly about 6ft by 6ft an about 7ft high il have a look if it comes apart i should imagine it would but il let u know for sure later on wen i go up to lock up n if some one could pick it up 4 u that would b a wicked idea i love it a national parcel carrier service ace

Just had another thought - have a horsey friend down in South Wales, and she does come up to our neck of the woods to the horse shows, but not sure when she will next be up. That would be ideal if she could take your loom back with her :D
I know the chain is used for poultry, to ferry them up and down the country, but cannot remember which website its on. To be honest, if people are driving somewhere, and the item is not too big or bulky, and they do not have to go too far out of their way, its no great deal is it?
And if it is helping other members, thats got to be good? What goes round, comes round, as they say. The favour may be able to be returned, if not to the person involved, to someone else.

just had a propper look at it its about 4ft square n 5 ft high n it will go down flat good luck sweet xx
-
I'd join a chain! I have a med size/height Transit and I live in Birmingham.
Stick me on the list ;D

Ooooo this is rather exciting.....Roxy - do you think your horsey friend would be able to fit it in his/her trailer lorry....along with horse/s ;D
fizzgigg - will email you re "offer" ;)
We mosey around South and West Wales and have various trailers, so would be happy to join in the TAS transportation link up :)

Will email her and see whether she is venturing out of Wales soon
