Title: Hen with one eye closed
Post by: Margery McGowan on October 16, 2017, 02:14:17 pm
Hi - wonder if anyone can help please.  I'm relatively new to chicken keeping.  Noticed a couple of days ago that one of my hens has 1 eye (right) that is closed quite a bit of the time.  I've checked her over and can't see anything wrong.  She is eating, drinking, foraging with the others and appears to be healthy, other than the closed eye.  I bathed the eye with saline yesterday (sunday) - she was not amused!  She came bounding out with the others this morning (Monday) and eye did appear to look better.  Any ideas what might be wrong and what should I be doing?  Any help / advice would be greatly received.  Thanks
