Title: Round bales of straw £15. E Yorkshire. GONE.

I have some bales of well made wheat straw for sale at £15. We are in the Goole area. This is really nice soft stuff, suitable for feeding or bedding. Good solid bales - 4' 2" diameter and weighing 240kg.

Have just sold the first load. Farmer had to roll them off the wagon by hand and remarked about how solid and heavy they are. :sunshine:

All gone. :thumbsup:  They went up to Scotland - a 600  mile return journey, so I dread to think what price they will be fetching up there. :thinking:
I advertised them on facebook on Sunday evening and the phone never stopped ringing. The chap who collected them said he just can't get enough straw. One of the dealers has imported some from France. :farmer: [size=78%] [/size]

Thats about right landroverroy, the harvest has been late this year in most of Scotland and there is a lot of bales still in the fields presumably drying off or tractors can't get on. Adding to this is some farmers with biomass boilers (government funded) are paying over the odds for straw to burn in them and are buying up all the straw. They are even burning spent brewers grains that a lot of farmers supplement their beasts with - there was something on landward or countryfile where a farmer was burning barley that wasn't fit for whiskey production. It's a funny old world....
