Any advise on which is best?
Haven't used either previously but would like more accurate lambing dates.
Thanks all

Am leaning more toward paint also for that reason he may get sore.
You mind me asking what oil you use to mix it?
Thanks

Just plain sunflower oil. Make sure you rub it right on his brisket and tummy underneath and don't make it too runny. If you can catch him easily or run him into a pen without stressing the ewes too much then I'd rather raddle than harness.

Have used raffle for 4 years now on three different rams and quite happy with it

We used to raddle in the field while the tup had some feed in a bucket. The ewes get rather pushy, though ;)

We use raddle - just started getting our new ram used to eating out of a bucket so it'll be very easy to apply and reapply raddle.

I didn't like the idea of a harness in case it made him sore so used paste. Mixed the powder with some margarine. It worked a treat. Like SITN I put it on while feeding too but from the other side of the fence i.e. he was one side and I the other. Just put my hand through the fence and 'stroked' his chest while he was eating.

We did raddle paste last year with our CMM it worked really well for us. We just mixed the powder with sunflower oil until it was a thick paste and I slathered it on with a gloved hand.
