We have finally moved into our smallholding and had our fields topped out - yay!! I was going around the perimeter having a look at the state of the fencing and I found a couple of these poos. I think they're too big for fox poo, and don't look right. They're kind of a grey-black colour, and really quite big! Any guesses what animal I've got here? I'm in West Wales.

Dog?
Can be all sorts of colours depending on what the dog has been eating.

It's happened overnight. I can't say that I've seen any dogs, apart from my own, and those are definitely not his. I would think I t would be very difficult to get onto that field if it was someone's dog. ???

Badgers ? I believe they look quite dog like but on the large side.

I would say fox. Dropping often have a twist at one end and that's what it looks like on your pic. Smell usually gives it away. Badgers generally more runny and in holes if they pass often but not always.

could it have been a cat? Our cat does massive ones sometimes, so you can't really tell the difference. Either cat, small dog/puppy or fox :)

Looks like badger to me.

Looks just like the fox spraint in this pic:
