Title: New to here.
Post by: Runctonsee on August 27, 2017, 11:08:04 am
Hi just registered today. I'm from Suffolk and at the moment I have no sheep, but looking to get a few to start with next year. Will be having a day of hands on experience, just to really confirm to myself that this is what I want to enter into. Do have another to think about, like where to get them from, insurance like liability, a vet that caters for Farm livestock and someone to shear them. Any information to help will be very greatfull.

Hi and welcome, What a good idea to have an experience day, I sort of fell into sheep with a stray turning up and making herself at home. Goats are my thing really  :)

Hello and welcome from windy Carnoustie

Good luck with the sheep. I'd recommend the articles on the website https://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/livestock/sheep/ (https://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/livestock/sheep/) and Tim Tyne's book "The Sheep Book fror Smallholders"
