We have been looking for 1 or 2 female goats, preferably either in milk/with kids, or pregnant. We would consider anything ready for mating this autumn also.
These will be our first goats and we were after something we could milk fairly soon. Any breed considered but really looking for GG's or Saanens.
Anywhere around Shropshire, Staffordshire and Wales.
Thanks!

Goats do need other goat company so you do need two. Good luck with your search. There are lots of goat people on here for advice.

Thanks Harmony, if we didn't get two females we'd get one with a kid or a weather for company.

I've got goats for sale but not sure if they'll be what you're after.
They're crossbred angora x (golden guernsey x saanan).
They have a lovely fine fleece. Should give a reasonable household quantity of milk depends how many gallons you want.
I'm near Llanidloes in mid Wales.

It's not the best time of year to be trying to buy goats - moves to a new home will cause quite some stress to any goat, making it difficult for her to either get in-kid or not abort/re-absorb. You would probably be best looking for a milker running through (and resist the temptation to put her in kid) or get a couple of kids.

Good point Anke, hadn't thought of that.
I think we are going to leave the goats for a while, have decided that cows will be more suitable for us after all, but thanks for the offer Dogwalker!
