Winkhound,  If it's any good to you, I was just quoted £40+VAT + Callout by our vets to carry out the teaserification process to one of our tups. That seems such a good price that I'm tempted to book myself in too.

So if you can't find a teaser to buy, it shouldn't be all that expensive to make your own. HTH!

would normally be the way but have time constraint and lack of choices. Also quite fancy a quirkier breed and though this may be the place to find it. Charity farm for kids so would add a bit of interest.

Fair enough. Just beware on the quirkier breed thing though. A farmer we know bought a Zwartbles teaser, since he would be really easy to spot amongst all his Texel ewes.

Well, it seemed like a good idea, until lots of stripey black lambs appeared 6 months later  ;D .

Ours cost £44 to get done .... worth every penny to shorted lambing by a week!

Shame I don't have an entire Llanwenog you could have .... fab breed (looks like Shaun!) ... bit the wrong time of year to ask unless people specifically produce teasers?  hmmm is there a market for them ?

Our rams stay in for 19 days maximum, usually only 17.  We run an entire Southdown ram (usually one of the shearlings that's going out to hire) in the next field for around four days before the breeding tups go in.  Southdown because they've short legs and can't hurdle the fence like the Badger Face.  All hold to the tup first time around and lambing is over in 21 days.  This is, however, after years of culling out any ewe scanned empty - no second chances here.
