Title: Blood in milk
Post by: DavidandCollette on July 04, 2017, 12:02:09 pm
We milked Any our Golden Guernsey this morning, she has had some udder problems but has been ok of late. The milk this morning had blood on it. Any ideas please? She seems to be ok in herself

Don't worry too much, occasionally especially newly kidded a blood vessel bursts and you get pink milk, will clear up itself next couple of milking.

Any chance another goat has bunched her up the udder?  Fresh blood usually means an injury = internal bleeding.  This would give pink milk.  Blood, blood with little milk = mastitis and needs treating pdq.
