Hi,
Kate and I bought a small holding in West Wales in a tiny little hamlet outside of a village called Maesycrugiau (no i didn't just mash the keys that's the nearest village name)
We have a couple of acres of our own but we have also just taken on a couple more acres for doing some tree work for one of the neighbouring land owners.
Currently we have.... Five Berkshire Boars (two due for slaughter later this month), 5 goats three of which are dairy males we took on and bottle fed for the freezer and two TogxBoer females (mum and kid), few geese, three ewes and some chicken chicks which will soon be ready to venture outdoors.
Loving the life although we both have full time jobs still but it has been a dream of ours and we wouldn't change it for the world (maybe less of the day jobs)
Dan and Kate.

Best of luck. Not far from us just over Llanlwni mountain near Brechfa. There are quite a few of us in this area. I'm sure they will be along soon :-)

Hi from Talley. You are probably a bit far but we have started a smallholder group near here on 1st We'd of month.... We do have a couple of people come from your direction.

Hi Kate
Welcome to the forum from Ceredigion! It sounds absolutely fabulous! :)

Cheers :)
I have been reading things on the forum for years now but never signed up as we didn't have the land at the time. It was all dreaming, imagining and planning.
Upside with the gardening I do and fence work over the years for customers I have some of the skills already. But with animals you can only read so many books before actually getting muddy with them and working it all out as we go. One thing I am still missing though is a swarm for my Hive. I have been reading up and wanting bees for well over a decade. I bought a hive last year as it was a total bargain but it is still sat lonely and empty but we have only been here about 7 months now so perhaps that can wait until next year now. I don't think we had anticipated having as many animals as we do already but hey ho these things happen :)

 and welcome from Shropshire. I love the area you are in and we often holiday in the area. Just a back garden smallholder - what I call my microholding - but I have my dairy goats and grow fruit and veg.

Hi welcome from Cilcennin, a bit north but never too far for a brew and a chat! Sounds like you are mostly sorted already!
