Title: how old

how old can we kill our cockerels for the table?
we thought since the light sussex ( which we were going to breedis no longer thought as a meat bird,
why go out and buy in other birds when we can use the cockerels that we have hatched through
out this spring/summer.

We killed ours at 26 weeks

We killed our at 15 weeks but it was far to early, we had to do the deed as i could not sell them and they were begining to fight amongst them selves, they tasted ok, they were just small.
