Title: Castlemilk Moorit shearling rams (or whole as butchered meat?) Sheffield
Post by: Fieldfare on May 25, 2017, 11:14:38 pm
6 Castlemilk Moorit shearling rams for sale £60 each. Timid and aloof natured. Some are fleece sheddders. Need to be collected before 4th June as then they go to slaughter. Possibility of selling whole as butchered meat, at cost, if anyone was close enough in Sheffield to collect from abattoir.

What would the slaughter price be? Might the skin be available too?

Hi, cost of butchering is about £20 (it may have gone up a pound or two). I have never asked the abattoir re. skins. But they are a small family run operation so might be amenable to that (if legal for them to supply it and it fits in with their butchering technique). I'm happy to find out if you are seriously interested. The wool is lifting off most of them now so that would be patchy- not sure if  that is a problem?

Mmm that's very true (re the skins).

I will hold off for now, my car has decided to play up so my food money might have to be diverted!
