Title: Hypothermic week old lamb
Post by: danielmacconnell on April 09, 2017, 10:32:12 am
Hi, I have a hypothermic week old lamb in the oven atm. Can I give it colostrum at this age? What else can I do to help it? Thanks

On a goat site it suggests putting kid in waterproof plastic bag, (head out of course) putting in bucket of warm water. Warms up quicker.

If it's a week old, why is it hypothermic?  Got thoroughly soaked with rain on a cold day?  Dam not allowing it to suckle or has poor milk yield so it hasn't enough energy to keep warm?  Low temperature can be an indicator of an infection, too.
