I know this farm well, my best friend & her family lived there for about 20 years, and they were the ones who converted the steading into the flat. They sold it about 7 years ago, to the current owners who are now selling.

It is a lovely place if anyone is interested, but, the winters up there are severe- high chance of getting snowed in!

Very reasonable prices compared to here.  Being snowed in would not bother us, we are well used to it up in these Derbyshire hills.

Just the upheaval of moving all my beasties ........old Macdonalds farm would have nothing on us!!!

I thought the price they want for Quilts is huge, given when my friend sold it, they only got £310,000 for the lot! Although there were no stables or menege then.

Stables and menage are very appealing to horse owners - they would probably prefer those to the house.  Honestly, down here,  across the field from us, is an end of terraced cottage, small garden, veg plot, no land and two small stone stables.  Thats £350,000 just for that ......so what the farm house, or indeed the flat and land would fetch here, is anyone's guess.

I could be tempted to come to Scotland at those prices. Well, would not need tempting, I love Scotland!!!

Down here land varies but seems to be about £12'000 for 4 to 4.5 acres at the moment.

As far as I can see all three of the woodland areas although cheap are landlocked and extremely steep sided, so not suitable for much in the way of smallholding I don't think. ??? ???
