Title: Light Sussex Cockerel
Post by: jameslindsay on June 25, 2010, 11:11:26 pm
I have decided to try and rehome Charlie my Light Sussex cockerel. He is 18 months old and proved his worth. He doesn't get on with me but is fine with everyone else? So, if you know of anyone in the Fife area is he free to a good home - not for the pot! :chook:

I hope Charlie gets a lovely new home soon with lots of new girlies.  I am sure we will be looking for homes for cockerels soon too.

I put Jamie on Gumtree and had three replies - give it a go, James.  He's now living it up on an acre right out in the country with 3 black rock ladies, 3 older children, and a good few working labs. ;D

Put him on gumtree lastnight and one lady from Edinburgh wanted him but to be honest did not get good vibes from her - so the hunt for a new home coontinues.

I am sure one of the eggs that I hatched 3 weeks ago is a cockerel and son to Charlie so we will keep him.

I have had 2 responses off gumtree - both total loonys though so the hunt for a new home continues...

Thanks I'm sure he will. It is wierd not hearing him this morning, wonder if the girls miss him? This way it will give the feathers on their backs a chance to get back to normal.

I know he is going to be well looked after so that's the main thing. The girls will at least get a chance to re grow their back feathers as Charlie had them looking "oven ready". ::)
